The ship has a wooden 'keel' for strength with the body shape built up from 1mm and 2mm plastic sheet and car body filler. The steam boiler is of a compact variety, sitting lower on the deck, and has been scratch built. Ralings are from brass wire. The rear control surfaces are made from sheet plastic with 'ribs' glued in place and then covered in foil which is then glued into position using cyanoacrylate.
